Method 1 – Make Sure Your Antivirus Isn’t Causing the Problem
All antivirus software are helpful in removing and quarantining suspicious files and software. This helps to protect the PC from harm. Sometimes, the antivirus might mistake a few of the Discord’s sensitive files as corrupted or as malware.
This might lead to the files being quarantined, which in turn creates errors for the application. To ensure that this is not the problem, you must whitelist the files or be allow the antivirus to run them. You will usually face this problem when your PC has the “Avast Antivirus” software. To fix this problem, we have to follow the steps given below:
Step 1: In case, Avast Antivirus is already open, it can be located at the taskbar, right-click on it and select “open“.
Step 2: Select the “Menu“ option located at the top right corner of the software screen. Go to “Settings“ and under the “General” tab, click on “Exceptions” and then “Add Exceptions“.
Step 3: Browse the folder that consists of the Discord Application. Then, check the small box beside it to add the folder. Click on “OK“.
Note: If the method doesn’t work, you may have to uninstall the antivirus. Then, run the installer again without the antivirus installed. After the installation completes successfully, reinstall the antivirus, and continue using Discord along with the Antivirus.
