Warning: “Danger, Will Robinson!” There won’t be a fourth season of Lost in Space. Unfortunately for viewers, the beloved science fiction TV show that was inspired by The Swiss Family Robinson has come to an abrupt end.

The popular Netflix series was run for three seasons by Zack Estrin, who passed away on September 23, 2022. Season 3 of Lost in Space will be the final season, as confirmed in March of that year.

Will There Be a ‘Lost In Space’ Season 4?

The Robinsons’ story was always intended to be told over the course of three films, Estrin has claimed. Clearly structured into three acts, this epic family saga has it all.

Many viewers of the groundbreaking science fiction series are upset that there won’t be a Lost in Space season 4.

The Robinsons are still well-known all around the world, despite the fact that this reboot is vastly different from the original series, which ran from 1965 to 1968. In this new version, an alien invasion causes an Earth family to become stranded in space.

Will Netflix Bring Lost In Space Back For Season 4?

Netflix said that Season 3 would be the last. The creators of the show did a good job wrapping up the series and tying up all the loose ends.

According to a statement released by creator Zack Estrin, the series was only supposed to run for three seasons.

After taking to Twitter, Estrin declared, “This particular Robinsons saga has always been envisioned as the first in a three-part series. A beginning, middle, and end to an epic family tale told over the course of three parts.”

Before the third season’s premiere, he continued, “When you consider what Will, Penny, Judy, Maureen, John, Don West, Dr. Smith.

And The Robot go through simply to make it through each episode, it’s clear that they all need a moment to catch their breath before their next assignment.

Of course, Debbie the Chicken is there as well.  Although I’m sad to see this exciting era of Lost in Space come to a close.

I look forward to continuing to discover new stories with my colleagues at Netflix and to the boundless potential that lies ahead.”

Season 4 Summary of Lost in Space

We’ll never know what happened to Robinson after Lost in Space’s third season ended. While the plot of Lost in Space Season 4 has not been revealed just yet, it is easy to speculate on what might take place.

The Robinsons made it to Alpha Centauri without a hitch, and the story ended happily for all involved. Robot and Will set off into space while everyone else dispersed.

Given the starting point, the Robinsons have virtually limitless potential following steps.

Robot and Will going on adventures with Judy Robinson Alpha Centauri is only one of many potential spin-off concepts. A sitcom starring Don West and Debbie would be great.
