L. Zazzeri Olympic Games Tokyo 2020: 50-Meter Freestyle

In the men’s 50-meter freestyle, he placed ninth, and in the 400-meter freestyle relay, he was fifth. He swam the men’s 50-meter freestyle in 22.00 seconds, good enough for third place in the “cadetti” category despite being only 19 years old.

In 2016, L. Zazzeri won silver at the Italian National LC Championship by swimming the men’s 100-meter freestyle in 48.96 seconds, being the first Italian to do so. He swam the first leg of a men’s 400-meter freestyle relay and earned gold in the 2017 World University Games in Taipei.

European Short Course Championships, 2017 (Copenhagen) L. Zazzeri came away with a silver medal in the men’s 200-meter freestyle relay and a bronze medal in the same event for the mixed team.

L. Zazzeri was also a semi-finalist in the men’s 100-meter freestyle event, missing out on the final by a just 0.02 seconds. 2018 World Championships in Short Course Swimming (Hangzhou) medaled in the 200-meter freestyle relay for bronze in the 400-meter freestyle relay for fourth place.

Placed 14th in the 100-meter freestyle event (46.98) Championships of Europe in 2018 (Glasgow) Earned a silver medal in the 400 freestyle relay and a fourth-place finish in the 400 freestyle mixed relay.

Placed 18th by themselves in both the 50- and 100-meter freestyle events. L. Zazzeri finished up an exhausting 2021 by competing in the FINA World Short Course Championships in Abu Dhabi in the winter.
