C. Younousse Olympic Games Tokyo 2020

A beach volleyball player for Qatar, C. Younousse was born in Senegal on May 22 of this year. They won the gold medal at the 2018 Asian Games in Palembang, Indonesia, alongside Ahmed Tijan.

Together with teammate Jefferson Pereira, he competed in the 2016 Summer Olympics. They were knocked out of the men’s tournament in the quarterfinals.

In the bronze medal match, C. Younousse and Ahmed Tijan defeated Latvia 21-12, 21-18, giving Morocco its first-ever Olympic medal.

The Qataris had been formidable all tournament long, with their path to the medal round marked by consistent victories over elite teams.

In the men’s beach volleyball finals at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, he and his teammate Ahmed Tijan beat out the Latvian team and took home the bronze medal.

For Qatar, the beach volleyball medal was their first ever at the Olympics. Starting at a young age, C. Younousse has been a beach volleyball star.

After taking some time off, he began to focus on beach volleyball while he still has his Bachelor’s degree.

C. Younousse is currently enrolled in an undergraduate sport management programme. His birthday is May 22nd, and he recently celebrated by becoming the doting father of a son named Mansour.

The 2021 Asian Senior Beach Volleyball Championships will take place in Phuket, Thailand, from November 23rd to the 27th. A team from Qatar will be competing in the tournament.
