100GBASE LR4 optical transceiver module is a hot-swappable, four-channel laser, full-duplex optical transceiver QSFP28 packaged optical module, designed for single-mode transmission within 10km, wavelengths from 1295nm to 1310nm up to 10km transmission distance.
This module provides an ideal low-cost solution for hyperscale data centers that require certain transmission distances. Moreover, the QSFP 100G LR4 optic module is fully compliant with IEEE 802.3ba(100g ethernet), IEEE 802.3bm, SFF-8665 and SFF-8636 standards.
The 100GBASE LR4 optical module converts four (4) 25Gbps electrical indications into four LAN WDM optical signals, and is also multiplexed into a single channel for 100G optical procedures.
After receiving the 100G optical signal from the opposite end, the module demultiplexes the input signal into 4 channels of 25G LAN WDM optical signals, and then converts the IC and RF circuits into electrical signals for output.
How Does 100GBASE LR4 Work?
100GBASE LR standard SMF pairs are up to 10 kilometers long, which means single-mode fiber, including duplex LC connectors. With the integrated design of COB to PCBA, it has a mature packaging process in the automatic production process.
The transceiver is compatible with all standards. According to the provisions of 100GBASE LR4, DDM can also be used through the I2C interface to allow monitoring of operating parameters such as temperature, voltage, receive and transmit light power.
With these advantages, this transceiver is suitable for applications such as data center interconnects（DCI）, enterprise core and distribution layers, campus networks, and more.
